Finding Your Channel Meeting Recordings in Teams

These types of meetings are meetings that happen within a Teams channel and are stored in a recordings folder in the files tab of the channel. All of these files are stored in a SharePoint site that is made for all the channels. Every member of the channel can view or edit recordings of the meetings. 

After a meeting has concluded, these recordings automatically get saved and can be accessed by anyone who is a part of the channel, even the users who were not invited to the meeting.

Step 1. Go to Microsoft Teams and locate your team’s channel.

Step 2. Open the channel and choose the Files option from the navigation bar.

Finding Your Non-Channel Meeting Recordings on OneDrive

All the non-channel recordings are stored in the OneDrive directory of the person who organised the meeting. Only the person who organised the meeting and the person who started the meeting can edit it. All the other meeting participants can view the meeting.

  1. Sign in to your OneDrive account.
  2. Locate the recordings folder. You can find all the meeting recordings in this folder.

How Can You Download the Recordings from SharePoint or OneDrive?

You can download the Teams recordings only if you are one of the following:

  1. A meeting organiser
  2. A user who started the recording. 

To download the recordings, you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Select the files that you want to download.
  2. In the top navigation bar, choose the download option.
  3. The download with start immediately.
  4. If the browser gives you a prompt, select the save or save as option and select the location where you want to save the recordings.

How Can You Retrieve an Expired Recording?

Now the question arises that where are the Microsoft Teams recordings stored when they expire? When recordings expire, they move to the recycle bin, so it is not lost. You will receive an email that notifies you that this change is taking place. You have some time before these recordings move out of the recycle bin. 

The administrator sets the amount of time that the recordings can be available for. You can remove or change the expiration date of a particular recording.

  1. Click on the email with the title Your Teams meeting video has expired and is now deleted. Go to the recycle bin.
  2. Select the recording that you want to restore in the recycle bin.
